We are an xpat family looking to buy in HK, we have lived in Tung Chung for about 5 years and want to move to a bigger home. Unfortunitly we have not really been to many places in Hong Kong and therefore are unsure of the areas we should be looking in to buy.

We have looked at South Lantau if you live in South Lantau could you please advise us of the best xpat area to look in.

We have looked in Sai Kung and although we loved the larger house lifestyle we felt that we may get rather lonely in some of areas we were shown. if you live in Sai Kung could you please advise us of the best xpat area.

If you live in another wonderful xpat area we would dearly love to know where so that we can as our agent to show us these areas.

We apprieciate you advise and time

Thank you so much for your replies, I have been looking on the net for something in Sheung Sze Wan, Sai Kung but they are all over 10 million.

I hope to find something soon as I would love to be able to have a little more room.

Thanks again for you advice.

Gas Girl - where in Sai Kung do you live?

Royal Palms and Palm Springs in Yuen Long are good value and have good transport.

I fully agree with XTC. Without sounding too over-the-top, my feeling is that Pokfulam is a HK paradise. It's great for families (large-spacious flats), is very dog friendly, has plenty of high-end grocery stores, cinemas, restaurants, parks, South China Sea views, and although prices have gone up over the last year or two, it's still quite reasonable considering what you get.

Good luck in finding the right location for your family!
