Landlord-Tenant handover

Hello, I am a newbie landlord. My tenant is moving out next week - can anyone advise if it is common to do the handover on our own or should we have an agent present? If the latter, what do they charge? And whose responsibility is it to notify the utility companies? How do I make sure the tenant has paid his bills up until the day he leaves? Thanks all.

I don't think it's a big deal whether the tenant have settled all the utility bills already however you can just remind him ask for termination and to the utility departments change the billing address if necessary. All those department have keep a deposit already for the meter when he was there. Fail to pay the bills, they will deduct from his own deposite, not billing you.

You can also inform the relevant utility departments when you need to take over the meter to under your own again.

Handover process seems to be so simple. Just to check whether alteration involve other than basic normal wearing. I don't think it's necessary to have a third party assistance except you need a translator.
