I have a question. My landlord agreed to renew my lease for another year verbally and I assumed the new contract would come through for me to sign as I have stayed there already 2 years. I was then informed that they decided last minute to not renew as the owner now wants to move in. My lease is up in August.
Questions I have are if I found a flat before August can I move out without paying them rent although they have 2 months rental already?
2. Can I dispute it saying that 1st u agreed andthen now you want it and only have 2 months to look for a new place.
3. I am also wondering if I don't pay rent for the last 2 months as I have the deposit with them, would this cause a problem later on to me in the future once I move out?
People say I should dispute it with the landlord as they had agreed to renew andthen changed their minds last minute although at that time I had nothing in writing. But I am not sure it's worth it as I already have to move out.
Any advice would be great
thanks!

You don't have any rights. Your tenancy agreement is ending in August and the landlord is under no obligation to renew. You, however, are under an obligation to pay your rent up to the end of the lease. Some people do stop paying rent two months before they move out, as they are worried that the landlord won't refund their deposit. The landlord might chase you for the money but it's probably unlikely, unless you have done a lot of damage in the flat.
