HK work visa

I have found employment in HK and I have dual citizenship - HK & Australia. I know I can come and work in HK using my permanent ID card, however, I want to come on a work visa instead. Is that possible?

The reason is, I wish to apply for a dependent visa for my husband, who is a mainland chinese. If I enter using my permanent ID, I cannot apply a dependent visa for him.

I know he can apply a visa to HK himself, however, he would need to return to the mainland for 1 month for every 3 months he's been here.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

As a PR you will be unable to apply for a work visa. Your ID number would flag you immediately as a PR. Even if you did have a work visa the process for bringing a dependant who is a mainland citizen can be very difficult.
