I was hired and sent to hk, my working visa did not extend after a year. My ex- company did not extend my working visa. I found it difficult to look for jobs in hk, I sent more than 100 application but less than 10 replies. My fiancé is hk perm resident but I decide not to have a dependent visa until until end of the year. Most companies know I need a working visa reject my Application. I can speak and write good English . I can write and speak good mandarin too. But i do not understand why so difficult to find a job in hk. I didn't want an expat pay or packages. My last pay was hk$24000. It is not an expat pay. How can I find a company willing to sponsor me a working visa?

A company must have a compelling reason to hire you, i.e. they can't find anybody locally with your skills. So it depends on your skills, industry you're in, luck, etc.

That is really bad. Ex-company sent me to UK for a one month training before sending me to HK. Do you know how much is the cost of living in UK? Company paid my hotel and airtickets. I stay one year in HK so laid off because they have financial problems in HK. So called "THE EXPAT" has to go. I have the higher pay in this office. What's a joke!

What do you actually do? What was your job?

You can't get a dependent visa anyway, you must be married. Being engaged doesn't count.

Your English isn't very good by the way, I really can't understand what you're trying to say in the last post. That's fine if you're in the finance industry or something where you only need basic English but if it was something else maybe that's why they didn't want you. How is your Cantonese?

Sending out your resume isn't very useful here, you need to get out there and network. Get to know people, let them know you're looking for a job, tell them what you can do, and sooner or later you will get a job.

Whoever hires you must prove that they can't find a local who can do your job. So in your case it will probably have to be your skills combined with being a native Mandarin speaker.

neither could I understand the point of your 2nd post. (btw it's: 'what a joke.')

if your employer didn't extend your visa, how are you staying in HK now? assuming you're in HK sending out resumes. i thought if one doesn't have a valid visa one must leave HK immediately.

are you applying for careers that are in line with your qualifications? employers will not call back if resumes doesn't fit job.

cara, that may be but from the OPs initial post:

'I was hired and sent to hk, my working visa did not extend after a year. My ex- company did not extend my working visa.'

I took it to mean it expired and not extended.
