Hi,

My hubbi is working in HK so I am having a dependent visa. I have a opportunity to work for short term assignment in China.

I am thinking if I can find an agent to process my contract in China and most of time work from Hong Kong.

Do I have any tax issue or do I need a work permit in China? ( Ps I am from Taiwan so I have a China pass)

If you are going to work in China I'm sure that you will need a work permit - and it wouldn't be worth the risk working without one. Tax issue? Pass.

If you live/work in a country for less than 180 days out of 365 you are normally exempt from taxes. Unless you are making a couple of million a month??? check with any accounting firm.

hey there

thanks for your reply.

My situation is that a company base in China wants to sign employment contract with me...but when I think about tax issue...I am thinking if I can still base in Hong Kong...and I should only need to pay tax in HK.

So should I contact accounting firm? only big 4? will they charge a lot?
