Hi Everybody,

I have a visa valid until the end of the year and i will soon change employer, but stay in Hong Kong.

Did anybody experience this and can tell me what are the administrative documents for this, or where i can find information about this (cant find this case on hkgov) ?

Thanks in advance,

Nab'

Your new employer will have to sponsor you for a new work visa. Your current work visa does only allow you to work for the company that sponsored you.

You have to get through all of that with HR and the Immigration department just like the first time - the only thing you don't need to hand in again are your qualifications.

I have gone through this twice. the change of sponsorship paperwork is much simpler than for first time filers. (assuming the new positions is very similar to the previous one, and there is no gap in employment.)

Immigration already has your personal details. the form you file is the same as the one you file for work visa extension.

Can one commence the new job while the visa application is pending?

No, you have to wait that the visa has been accepted to be able to work.
