Western educated vs. Chinese fertility specialist

Hi all,

My wife (from HK) and I (from Europe) have been trying for a baby for more than 1 year. She is a believer in Chinese medicine, and has been seeing a Chinese fertility specialist for more than 1 year now (a well know doctor from Beijing who is affiliated with HKU). She's been given a lot of different kinds of Chinese medicine, and doing acupuncture. I've supported her 100% in this as that is what she's most comfortable with.

However, we've still not had any luck after 1 year, so I've decided that we should also see a western-educated doctor (she can keep seeing the Chinese doc). We're not looking at IUI/IVF yet, though might consider that in 6 months (we're both in our late 30's). We've both had health checks and though I am fine, my wife does have a smaller-than-normal uterus which could be one of the reasons why we haven't had luck yet.

Can anyone here recommend a western-educated doctor for this? I've checked some of the threads and a few names keep popping up, but these seem to be more IUI/IVF related.

Many thanks.

Hi trying_for_a_baby,

I can't really give you the right advice here but one thing that might be worth both of you trying is a vitamin called Maca. My partner and I were trying for a long time with no success so we started taking Maca within two months we were expecting. I know it can be bought from Natures Village near the escalators in central.

Good luck and I hope someone or something will work for your wife soon.
